Wi-Fi 7 makes more sense when you are buying higher-end networking equipment for the next several years, you already own or plan to buy compatible devices, and your workload benefits from lower latency or higher local network capacity. Examples include large file transfers across a local network, high-quality cloud gaming, crowded households with many active devices, advanced creative workflows, or small offices moving large files.

The decision is not “newest equals best.” It is “will the newer features be used by my devices and environment?” If your internet service is slow, your router is in a closet, or your laptop is old, fix those first.

Weak hardware is not always a standards problem
